Anabaptist Communities combining with Oneness In Fellowship and In Jesus Christ’s Name!
(Jn.8:24 and verse 58; Lk.18:7-8)
The Lord Jesus Christ was no dim theological figure, no “marginal character,” to the Anabaptists. He was their friend, their brother, the hero and the focus of their highest admiration. An unnamed Anabaptist wrote in the early 1500s:
Look at Christ the friendly knight! Look at the captain! The battle, when you come to this place, is fierce. The enemies — the world, the flesh, sin, the devil, and death — close in around you. But leap to your captain’s side! He will kill the enemies! He will help you out of all distress.
Stay with your flag! Do not let them drive you back from your captain, Jesus Christ! If you want the crown and the glory, and if you want to triumph with him, you must suffer and die with him too. They caught Christ our captain and beat him. In like manner they mistreat us, his followers. The hour of distress has come upon all the earth. They hunt us out. In almost every country they try to catch us because we stand for Christ. They try to keep Christ from coming to help us, barricading all the roads until they have us. Then the strangling and the stabbing, the gruesome violence begins. But wait, our captain, he will avenge it! He will break the power of the enemy, and he will stand with his little flock!
All you beloved knights of God, be strong! Be manly in the fight! This dreadful storm will not be long. Stand fast! Stand true to death! Do not allow them to drive you back. Men and women, trust in God!
Secret of the Strength, Chapter 6
I wonder how many in our congregation would stand up in this fight to the end, without fighting back, just for the sheer Word of Christ, would you? To the Anabaptists, community with Christ was worth having at the expense of husband, wife, children, or parents. It was worth the terror of flight and torture. The glory of community with Christ, the “Gemeinschaft of sharing in his sufferings” lit up the deepest dungeon. It shone with an other-worldly radiance above the flames of the Scheiterhaufen (the woodpile where the condemned were burned at the stake). It was the light they saw that opened the heavens and allowed them to see right there, almost within reach, the unspeakable joy of eternal community in new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells. Community with Christ, for the Anabaptists, was the promise of the Kingdom of Heaven. A south German Anabaptist wrote in the mid-1500s:
Oh God Father, on heaven’s throne, you have prepared for us a crown if we stay in your Son, if we suffer with him the cross and the pain, if we surrender ourselves to him in this life and if we struggle continually to enter into his community. You tell us what we need to know, through your Son, if we have community with him. . . .You gave your beloved Son to us to be our head. He has marked out for us the road we should take, so that we would not lose our way and find ourselves outside of his community . . . Therefore, Christians, oh little flock, let us all look together at how he walked before us here on the earth. Let us become like him in love and in suffering. Let us keep our covenant with him and not stay away from eating his flesh and his blood. His flesh and his blood, the food he gave us, must be understood like this: In eating his flesh and blood, the Spirit brings us into community with him. . . . God redeems us together with Christ. He serves us through his Son. His Son is the rock and the cornerstone of the house of his commune — his wife, his companion and his love, through whom he works on the earth. . . .Therefore come! Come all you newborn Christians! Come in sincerity to Christ the Passover lamb, whose kingdom and community shall never end!
I’m not entirely sure they understood the oneness of God in Jesus but they definitely had the compassion, faith and were doers of the Word not just hears, they had what it takes to go all the way, faith without compromising their principles, integrity, faith and discipline, of keeping Jesus’ Commandments unto death they stood, without fighting back physically, just as Jesus Commanded. Ro.12:21; Mt.5:38Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. 41And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Jesus gave all these for examples of how we are to have fellowship with Him who died for us, are we not to die daily for Him in return? Mt.10:28-42; 2Tm.3:16-17 Do it or Perish! The entire Bible is His Holy Word that He Wrote with His apostles, prophets, disciples, by His Holy Spirit; we need to read and do every verse in it to make it to Him who is above all and Lord of all, Acts2:36; 10:36!
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, He changes not so how can we claim to know Him when we keep not His sayings, we cannot be His disciple! Lk.14:23And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. 25And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. (Those who have run their race in vain on today’s vain theology!) 31Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. 34Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Those who are overcomers are those who have given up on this foolishness called today’s modern philosophy, of materialism, realism, carnality, over true Holy Ghost spirituality (Called being Born Again)! For the flesh profiteth nothing, for those who live in the flesh will die in the flesh, and those who sincerely seek Jesus as the first commandment taught will live to be with Him in Spirit and in truth. This world and everything in it are going to pass away with all sinners for this world will be their just rewards; I myself will continue to look for the new heavens and New Jerusalem! Lk.6:46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
When we read Revelation’s we find we will be judged by His every word and how we interpret His Word and most importantly is how we implement the Word in our daily lives, and this goes along with the Apostles for they wrote what He told them to write by His Spirit in them, they wrote the red typed words as well as those black letters! Mt.5:17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so; he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
1Jn.2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. Jesus said in Matthew24:34Verily I say unto you, This generation (Age) shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
1John2 speaks of keeping Jesus’ Word or perishing with this world in the end: 1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Today’s church prophesied
Rev.2:14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten (Those who suffer in this world in the fire of affliction are being tested and refined as God’s Golden Vessels!): be zealous therefore, and repent (Mt.3:11 He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:). 20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne (Kingdom), even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne (Kingdom). 22He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. But those who keep His words and do them are His overcomers; Rev.2: 12Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. 13He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. But how can this age have an understanding and a interpretation of scripture without the Holy Spirit leading them in all righteousness and holiness; by His word He reveals Himself to us by His indwelling Spirit in us. Jn3:3-7 was put in the word of God because it is important and hast to be required with diligent searching in all righteousness and then all things will be added unto you! Mt.6:33
If we have none of His Spirit in us we are none of His, Ro.8:9: How can we be the Temple of the living God when we have not His spirit in us and if we claim we do then why is it we cannot lead an overcoming life? Most generally it is because we did not repent before we tried to get baptized, and the Lord looked at your heart and saw your intensions where self preservationally motivated instead of knowing the true cost of discipleship! Jm.1: 19Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted (perfect, without blame, Mt.5:48; from Gen.17:1; the same today tomorrow and forever the Lord changes not, form old testament to the New Jesus is forever!) from the world. Just a helpful note whenever you see a word with eth at the end of it; it means to keep doing whatever that word means continually!
Backsliding a slippery slope to Hell
Once saved always saved is going to lead a lot of people straight to Hell: As well as I’m saved by Grace! NO one is above the commandments and that is why Jesus poured out His Spirit in the last days as spoken of by Joel which was preached upon by Peter, (Acts2), because the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues was given just for that reason so we would know without a doubt when we receive Him in our lives, with power (Grace) to become overcomers and live a righteous Holy Godly lifestyle, the Lord said come out from amount them (The World) and I will make you a priestly nation, (Ex.19:3-6) and in the New Testament 2Cor.6:17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Anything less than this is total deviance and a sin; 1Jn.3:
1 John 3
1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not (Jn.5:14; Jn.8:11): whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest (made known), and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. 13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
You see I don’t set Doctrine the Bible does, it is up to us to live it or perish in eternal Hell in the Lake of eternal Fire that has no bottom, where the worm dieth not and is forever hungry for sinners, that are the fuel for the fire that is never quenched! A real place for the adversary and His disciples those who cannot humble themselves to our Lord’s Doctrines and most preachers are clueless of, and the people never study the word to show their self approved of, 2Tm.2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I have a scripture for you: Heb.12:28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29For our God is a consuming fire. You see hear is the fundamental truth that we are to serve Him and in return He pours out His Grace on those who keep His truths, because grace and truth came by Jesus, Jn.1:17, so you see grace is a holy thing and is not for a sinner, and never was established for that purpose, the blood of remission of sin covers us from all sin, which is administered at Baptism in the only name by which it comes, read Ac.4:12; 2:38-40 that is the baptism talked about in Eph.4:4-7!
Where is today’s fear of God?
If there was any (fear of God) we would see a totally different world today; Pr.14:26In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Chapter 2:
1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding (The doing of what you learned that is according to scripture!); 3Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures (Mt.4:4; Lk4:4); 5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God (Ecc.12:13-14). 6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly (Grace. Mt.6:33 and 7:7-78). 8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints (Jn.1:17). 9Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment (1 Cor.2:1-16), and equity; yea, every good path (Mt.7:13-14). 10When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul (You shall live forever with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ); 11Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12To deliver thee from the way of the evil man (Satan and this world that is going to pass away), from the man that speaketh froward things (Jm.1:26; and Chapter 3 of James, see also Jms.4:1-4!) ; 13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness, (Gen.1:3; Jn.8:12); 14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths (Deu.4; and if our faith does not have works we are not His to begin with, Jms. Chapter 2!): 16To deliver thee from the strange woman (Not literal women it is false doctrines, of the Church of the World with Satan as their Pastor with man’s vain theological worldly principles rather than scriptural walks and evidences of Holy Spirit filled worship of fire and of truth, that man adheres to, this is when he commits adultery to God when He steps in His own directions and gets out of God’s path, (Deu.5:32-33; Mt.7:13-14), this is also the mark of the beast in Revelations which is the false Doctrines in this world, trying to white wash man’s inability to follow His our God’s Commandments! A Church that looks like a Church but lacks the power thereof (verse 13 of Isa 28), for Keeping His Words, Isa.28:7-20.), even from the stranger which flattereth with her words (2Tm.4:1-4); 17Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God (Rev.2:4-5). 18For her house inclineth unto death and her paths unto the dead (You and I, if we dare not to humble ourselves and follow our Apostles advice and walk according to their teachings, 1Cor.4:16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. Also this verse 1Cor.11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ ;). 19None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life (Mt.12:30-37; Gal.5:7). 20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous (2Tm.3:16-17). 21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it (Mal.3:16-18). 22But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. So we see that Grace (Favour Ac.20:24 and 32) is for keeping His will and His Commandments! Mt.12:43When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45Then goeth he and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation (Age of False Grace Doctrines). 46While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
If we say we have no sin we lie:
This is why we need to repent of sin because the more we are enlightened by the Holy Ghost in His scriptures the more we are held accountable to His righteousness, and we need to pray for forgiveness of our unknown sins as well as for our new found out sins, and for any unrighteousness and the sinful flesh nature, 1Jn.1:8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lk.12:47And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. And for those who think once saved always saved read this and weep or change your church where you can get feed the truth; Lk.12:46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. The Lord will come soon to justify those who have endeavored to sustain themselves on His words by keeping their bodies in check, and their emotions, their attitudes, and their sinful nature submitted to our Lord’s ways, without blemish, this is putting your money where your mouth is or in more polite friendly words we keep His commandments by putting our beliefs into practical use which constitutes faith, by walking in His will and in His Spirit we find contentment and self satisfaction knowing we have done all we can to follow Him in His ways and not ours! Just as Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and our own Christ Jesus, all gave their lives to God and let Him have His way with them, all but one stumbled; but only one did what was required of Him perfectly, but the point is that they may have stumbled but they fell on their faces before their God and asked for forgiveness when they fell out of His ways, and by their faith in doing and seeking God’s will and not their own they were accounted as faithful servants of our Lord and have found a place with the lord by their works they were accounted with righteousness and were blessed according to their actions, Lk.18:8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? This is putting Jesus’ teaching to practice daily, and how can we when we don’t even study His word daily? This is not what is meant by denying yourself daily and picking up our crosses! Mt.16:24-26 What if we gain the whole world will it not end up melting into a fiery furnace as the Lord has predestined?
When the church is being persecuted it becomes heightened to new heights of compassion for our beliefs this leads to faith being restored and ignited just as some of the puritans as they stood in the fire praising the Lord as they were burned at the stake, by no less that the Roman Catholics who gave us the Trinity Doctrines of Hell and even the Protestants and the Lutherans got into the action of killing those against Bible teachings of Jesus’ sayings, overcome evil with kindness so that God can dump the Hot coals on their enemies heads, for vengeance will be mine thus sayeth the Lord of the Host! Could our Pentecostal ranks hold up to this scrutiny? I think not, for we honor our military every chance we get to glorify ourselves instead of God and in keeping His truths alive in our congregations, are we not the body of Christ, and I read nowhere in the bible that the Lord ever struck anyone not even Judas who would have been thrashed by us, but Jesus practiced treat not evil with evil but overcome it with kindness and Godliness, even loving kindness, Ro.2:4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? We are not to be yoked to anyone who commits killing or any other violent acts, so how can our denomination condone the practice of supporting our military while it kills its enemies! We are to be about our Lord’s business and trust in Him in faith believing and He will contain our enemies, how could we have any enemies anyway if all we did was treat every nation with compassion, and feed the hungry, and cloth the naked, and build homes for the homeless, and visit the widows and the fatherless, how could anyone fight with or against Love, you can’t win a battle against Love!
This is how our Anabaptist friends won their new converts over with faith and with Godly, Brotherly Love, believing just what scripture tells us to do; we should do it realistically verse by verse and then watch out for what happens next, we would be labeled, supporters of terrorist, subversive cultist, because Jesus said if we follow Him we would be persecuted; where is our persecution today, it is because we are to much like the world to be a threat to them or Satan, so they in turn even come to our churches with hair cut on women, men with long hair, women wearing pants, man and women both with make-up on, earrings, jewelry, and the rest of the worldly fashions with ladies wearing nylons with fancy designs, that draw attention to their legs as well as long dresses so tight it leaves nothing to speculate upon (1Jn.2:15-17)! This would not be so bad if it were only in the ranks of the newcomers only but this is going on with our more supposively mature adult saints who are well off baby food diets of scripture and are teaching, and working instructing our children all the while training them to live in this world just as close as you can without being part of it and it is not working because they lack true Biblical understanding, the putting scripture to practice kind of understanding! I will tell you why these kind of people are still in our churches, it is because our pastors want numbers, not true converts, or it would hurt the bottom line of the financial future of His back pocket, because we are to rebuke those who are defiant and cause strife with a congregation (Tit.3:1-11) who is holding the mark of excellence according to the Lord’s Spirit, after the second or third admonition they are to be shunned; Titus3:10A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject; 11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.14And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. Mt.18:15Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Even if that man is the head pastor!
If we do not enforce this then we can expect a large turnover of our congregations, because those who are trying to live with the Lord will come out from among the worldliness of their own congregations and seek a more righteous walk with our Lord and Saviour, with a truer purer people who walk according to God’s ways and not the modern pro quo of watered down sermons, that won’t convict the obesity of not denying the flesh, the drinking, the smoking and most importantly the failure to walk according to His Commandments! I’m tired of us teaching our children to seek after trophies and pendants, in Bible quizzing, and the church having hobby Sunday showing everyone how vain we are gathering things that just gather dust, without any benefit to mankind in the sake of a wasted time of collecting yet again material gains (materialism is still materialism is it not?) and then the next week have a car show more materialism and coveting our neighbors accomplishments, oh look what I brought how pretty mentality!
We have sacraments and foot washing and then turn around the next day and have an Easter-day egg hunts for the children, of a pagan religious tradition! We are teaching our children the wrong ideas of a Godly life style trying to blend into a world we were told to come out of, to be part of it but not to be of it we are to be a peculiar people! If we are in the world we had better be evangelizing, not on another trip to go snow skiing, water skiing, or seeing shows in Branson under the disguise of fellowship and on vacation in the naked Caribbean Carnival Cruise circuit or anywhere else unless it is a special religious cruise for all evangelicals going to Israel or somewhere else to evangelize a country (1Thes.5:22)! Jesus at 12 told it all, out of the mouths of babes; Lk.2:49And he said unto them: How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? At all times why aren’t we, Col.3:17 it is required of us?
If we do not understand scripture well enough to know that we are to walk therein and in God’s Love then we are Lost still; because if we have not this kind of Love we are none of His. 1Jn.4:6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God (Mt.11:25-30). 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit!
If we cannot even love those inside our own ranks with a pure heart how can we say we have a love for Jesus Christ and not keep His teachings along with His Holy Apostles who gave themselves for our behalf (Jn.15:20), they lost their own lives for Jesus Christ and the church body, are we not to follow suit? Our Anabaptist brothers did… From The Secret of the Strength
What would the Anabaptists tell this generation?
By Peter Hoover
Chapter 6: On to Christ
Following Christ, the Anabaptists, especially those of south central Europe, spoke of Gelassenheit (a “letting loose” of everything) for Christ. Hans Haffner from a community of believers in Moravia wrote a tract while in the dungeon of the castle in Passau, Bavaria, in the 1530s, entitled “About the True Soldier of Jesus Christ.” In it he spoke of surrender:
Now let us hear what true surrender is: It is to let go of all things for God’s sake . . . and to turn to God so that he may lead us. Jesus Christ called it hatred: “He who does not hate his father and mother and renounce everything he has is not worthy of me.” True surrender is to put to death the flesh and to be born another time. The whole world wants to have Christ, but they pass him by. They do not find him because they want to have him only as a gift, only as a giver of grace and a mediator which he certainly is, but they do not want to have him in a suffering way.
The same Christ who says, “All who are heavy laden, come to me and I will refresh you,” also says, “Whosoever will not forsake father and mother cannot be my disciple.” (Lk.14:26 and ffs for we must know the cost of discipleship!) Whoever loves truth must accept the one as well as the other. Whoever wants to have Christ must have him also in the way of suffering. It is foolish to say: “We believe that Christ has redeemed us, but we do not want to live like he lived.”
True surrender involves two things: enduring persecution and overcoming ourselves. When they hit us on one cheek we are to turn to them the other. . . . In the second place we must be weaned from the ways of our human nature as a child must be weaned from his mother’s breast. We must be willing to forsake wife and children, father and mother, lands and property, our lives and even what God has given to us. . . for Christ.
Today’s Churches Following another Teacher and another Gospel of Jesus Christ
1Jn.2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
So we see the biggest fight we have in our modern day churches is still what Jesus was fighting with the Sadducees, Pharisees and scribes is still the same old thing hypocrisy we have not learned one thing from Matthew 23. If we are not about His business everyday and every minute about that day we miss lead ourselves into a complacency of a false doctrine that is relying on grace alone and that is not what grace is for! Grace is for the service, to uphold Jesus’ teaching and to administer the power thereof for that service by His grace! (Heb12:28-29) Heb.13:15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Madmen or Fools?
Four centuries after Hans Haffner wrote this tract, I spoke about Christian economics in a Mennonite church. I read what Jesus said on the subject and implied that we should obey him. No sooner did the service end than the minister of the congregation came to me and wondered what I meant. I said I didn’t mean anything but what Jesus said. He replied: “Well, I haven’t studied into it much, but I am sure there must be other Scriptures that would give this more of a balance.”
Balancing out Christ — what a difficult assignment! Especially for a minister who hasn’t “studied into it much”!
Leonhard Schiemer, Wolfgang Brandhuber, or Hans Schlaffer — it would never have occurred to them that Christ needed “balancing out.” The Anabaptists did not ask what Christ meant. They simply followed him, and people called them fanatics.
The young Anabaptist messenger, Claus Felbinger, wrote in chains from the castle dungeon at Landshut in Bavaria shortly before they beheaded him on July 19, 1560:
The world has become a wilderness, sunken in sin, and knows little or nothing of God. And now the very teaching of the Gospel has become a new and heretical teaching, a deception in the eyes of the world. As soon as God raises up a messenger of salvation . . . one who proclaims to them the true Word of God and shows them the right way to go, they refuse to believe him and think he is a madman or a fool. Anyone filled with the Spirit is considered stupid or insane. (Sound familiar?)
It was the Protestants, not the Anabaptists, who studied the New Testament in the sixteenth century to find out “what Jesus meant.” It was the Protestants, not the Anabaptists, who arrived at a “place of rest” and at “balanced” and “reasonable” positions on scriptural issues. It was the Protestants, not the Anabaptists, who knew their theology, their soteriology, and their ecclesiology. And certainly, the Protestants had inspired and capable leaders too.
A Monk in Armour
As a sixteen-year-old boy wrestling with a colt to get it untangled from its tie strap, I broke my foot. For several weeks I was laid up and an elderly “Conference” Mennonite neighbor brought me books to read from his church library. One of them was a book about Martin Luther called A Monk in Armour.
The story of Martin Luther’s conversion struck me to the heart. His conviction and his zeal for the truth inspired me, as few things have, in my Christian life. This is part of the story in his own words:
No matter how irreproachably I lived as a monk, I felt myself to be a sinner in the presence of God. My conscience bothered me very much. I could not believe that I pleased God with the things I was doing to gain his favor. I did not love God and his justice. In fact, I hated him — if not in open blasphemy, at least with huge murmurings in my heart. I was indignant with him, thinking that on top of condemning us miserable sinners to eternal destruction through original sin and oppressing us with all kinds of calamities through the law and the ten commandments, he had added sorrow onto sorrow by giving us the gospel (impossible to obey) through which his wrath would finally fall on us.
In this way I struggled fiercely and desperately with my conscience, while I continued to knock away at the epistles of Paul, consumed with a burning desire to know what he meant. . . .
Then, at last, I began to understand the justice of God. I began to see that the just man lives by the gift of God, which is by faith. I began to understand that the justice of God revealed in the Gospels is to be taken in a passive way, and that God justifies men not by works but by faith, as it is written: “The just shall live by faith.” When I comprehended this, I felt myself to have been born again, and to have entered through open gates into paradise itself.
Martin Luther found rest for his conscience — not in Christ but in Paul, not in the Gospels but in “sound doctrine.” When I was ten years old his great hymn, Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her, ich bring euch Heil und Gnadenlehr. Der guten Lehr bring ich so viel, davon ich singend sagen will . . . , (From Heaven Above to Earth I come, I bring you salvation and grace teaching. The good teachers I’ll take as much of it I want to say singing. According “Google Translating tool!”), made a deep impression (through a special occurrence) on me. Throughout my childhood it was my favorite hymn. But in the years following, little by little, I began to see where Martin Luther (a Trinitarian) and the Anabaptists parted ways.
Martin Luther found the Scriptures. The Anabaptists found Christ (The one true God in the flesh 1Tm.3:16). Their discoveries led them in totally different directions.
A Balanced Position
At the Diet of Augsburg on June 25, 1530, the rulers and church leaders of Protestant Germany met to draw up the Augsburg Confession of Faith (the “only authoritative and in every way the most significant” confession of the Lutheran church). Among its “balanced” and “reasonable” positions, based on the Scriptures, the confession states:
It is taught among us that all government in the world and all established rule and laws were instituted and ordained by God for the sake of good order, and that Christians may without sin occupy civil offices or serve as princes and judges, render decisions and pass sentence according to imperial and other existing laws, punish evildoers with the sword, engage in just wars, serve as soldiers, buy and sell, take required oaths, possess property, be married, etc.
Condemned here are the Anabaptists, who teach that none of the things indicated above is Christian. Also condemned are those who teach that Christian perfection requires the forsaking of house and home, wife and child, and the renunciation of such activities as are mentioned above. Actually, true perfection consists alone of proper fear of God and real faith in God, for the Gospel does not teach an outward and temporal but an inward and eternal mode of existence and righteousness of the heart.
After five other ringing condemnations of the “Anabaptists, Donatists and Novatians,” the Augsburg Confession (translated and adapted for use in the Anglican and Methodist churches of today) was signed by John, duke of Saxony; George, margrave of Brandenburg; Ernest, duke of Lüneburg; Philip, landgrave of Hesse; John Frederick, duke of Saxony; Francis, duke of Lüneburg; Wolfgang, prince of Anhalt; the mayor and council of Nuremberg and the mayor and council of Reutlingen.
But the Anabaptists paid no attention to it. They followed Christ.
Further south, in Protestant Switzerland, Huldrych Zwingli and John Calvin also wondered how to handle the “Anabaptist pestilence.” In a letter to Vadian (Conrad Grebel’s brother-in-law), Zwingli (Still yet another Trinitarian) said: “My struggle with the old church (Catholicism) was child’s play compared to my struggle with the Anabaptists.” John Calvin (Another Trinitarian) in his Brief Instruction to Arm Those of Good Faith Against the Errors of the Anabaptists wrote:
These miserable fanatics have no other goal than to put everything into disorder. . . . They reveal themselves to be the enemies of God and of the human race. . . . If it is not right for a Christian man to go to law with anyone to settle quarrels regarding possessions, inheritance, and other matters, then I ask these good teachers what will become of the world! (What would happen with a Doctrine of Love of God and man with all your being…..Peace and love of life is exactly what would happen; no more conflict on earth and heaven would be still along with earth and Jesus would reign forever, Lk.11:2!)
The Anabaptists did not answer John Calvin in writing. They answered him with their lives.
“I am the way and the truth and the life.” Jn14:6
To the Protestants, the Bible was the manifesto, an end in itself. Once they reached an agreement on how to “properly” interpret it, they revered it and treated it with gallant devotion. They preached and persecuted and fought mighty wars in defense of the Bible and its doctrines.
To the Anabaptists, the Bible was simply the book that took them to Christ.
The Protestants found the “key” to Bible interpretation in the epistles of Paul. But the Anabaptists found it in Christ and his Sermon on the Mount.
The Protestants saw in Paul a great theologian, the expositor of the doctrines of faith and grace. The Anabaptists saw in Paul a man who forsook everything to become a “fool for Christ’s sake.” They found community with him in his martyr’s death.
The Protestants lived to obey their authorities. They spoke much about “God-ordained authority” and held their princes and church leaders in highest esteem.
The Anabaptists lived to obey Christ.
The Protestants worked en masse (One Catholic or Universal Church, mono-logy-theism) and waited until “everyone was ready” to make changes in religious practice.
The Anabaptists did, on first opportunity, what they thought Christ wanted them to do. If no one else joined them, they did it alone. The Protestants followed a logical course. Theologians, princes and educators planned what to do in a way that made sense.
The Anabaptists followed Christ without making plans. That did not make sense. But it was the secret of their great strength. And it led them . . . (Looks like this, Jn.3:8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.)

Jesus said it best unless we come to Him as a child we are going to be struggling all the way! If we just surrender to His teaching and do as He said follow Me; we would be all the better for it, Jn.8:12Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. And Jn.14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. We see simple teaching nothing complicated in it just do it! Ecc.12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. The problem with today’s churches they have lost the fear of our Lord Jesus, Are we to please man or God? We had better learn Jesusology and not man’s vain philosophical theology but start concentrating on the Holy Spirit’s teaching us in the way we should go! (Jn.14:26 The Holy Ghost is the only one who can lead us into all righteousness of God for only the Spirit knows the mind of the Spirit, Jn.4:24, for the Spirit was the Father (Heb.12:9) and when you have seen the Father you see Jesus, Jn.14:7-9, 10:30, 12:45, 20:28; and Ac.20:28 etc. We must have works worhty of repentance; Ac.26:19-20!) Get right or perish! Turn or burn!
Jn.16:33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Where are our overcomers; where is our tribulation in the Lord that we will suffer for Being His Followers;
1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. 2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. 3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. Mt.11:6And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Everyone today is not offended by Jesus because they know not how to live like Him in Spirit and in Truth, if they did we would be walking according to His teachings today and not our denominational contrivances trying to override God’s ordained scriptures with their vain translations according to man’ desires!
Josh 24:14Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
15And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Or live in the wrath of God’s condemnations; 20If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
Philp.2:10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Hebrew13:8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. 9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. 10We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 11For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased!
If it is not us then who will follow Him in word and deed? Only those who are going to Him for eternity!
Is.28:9Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts: 10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speaks to this people.
12To whom he said, this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear (They say that speaking in tongues is not for us today, because they would not hear of it! Then they end up as these seen in the very next verse!)!
13But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken (Those who lack the true power of true Grace and His leading in Spirit and in truth by the Holy Ghost, Jn.14:15-18; See Ro.8:9!). 14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. 15Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Today’s Vain Church Doctrines
Is.28:7But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way (By the pride of self serving Pastors, Bishops etc. take away their pay and we would see how many would still preach His word!); the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink (The worship of their congregations are what they seek today!), they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment (Seeking position in the High seats of power!). 8For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean (For they have turned back to the old ways, in the days of Old!). Rv.3:14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
We need not another lip service, but a service of true repentances, on our knees seeking Jesus’ face! Come join the true gospel of Jesus Christ’s teaching churches; who have but one thing on their minds and that is following their Master and Saviour in word and deed, to the end of days and on into Eternity for Forevermore!
