An Introduction to Oneness;

a Bible Study

  The first thing to remember is that 2 Tim. 3:16, 17, all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; 17. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Any time Jesus is praying to the Father, it is the flesh praying to the spirit, and is an example of what we are to do. Praying before your Bible study and asking the Holy Spirit to lead you in scripture will help you with interpretation of scriptures. Try doing a Bible study just on the Holy Ghost or Spirit and you will find scripture that shows God to be the Holy Spirit. You’ll need a good study Bible. I use the Nelson KJV it is a Trinity Bible and I have another one that is a Disciple’s Study Bible that is Trinitarian (NIV), but this doesn’t bother me because I know the truth, and it’s not a great leap from Trinity to Oneness as people really think. I’m going to get a Nelson or Thompson that is Oneness one of these days from this place; they have great books on Doctrine and Theology. Pentecostal Publishing House/ lic.  One thing I know for sure is that God is not a schizophrenic and does not have Dissociative identity disorder that is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities. God is not three persons, people or whatever. Jesus was the only person that was flesh, bone and blood that could be the sacrifice, and the only way he could be a perfect and sinless sacrifice is because he was the Holy Spirit wrapped in flesh 1st. Timothy 3:16. I really do mind the Trinity doctrine as much as some do in the Pentecostal ranks because I know there are not three persons. It’s just the person’s thing that is wrong really. There are a lot of Trinitarians that call themselves Pentecostal.

The Old testament in Deut.6:4 one God Isa. chaps. 44 & 45 you will find oneness scriptures. Now anytime you are using scripture to prove a point or set Doctrine you need to harmonize it with the OT. & NT. plus it has to glorify God, which is Jesus (Jn.5:39). God always says in the Old Testament that he would not nor ever share his Glory with another. Isa.42:8; Isa.48:11, and in the gospels Jesus let James, John and Peter see who he really was at the transfiguration, when he just let a little part of his Glory was shown (See also Jn.11:40; 2 Cor.4:6 on God’s Glory seen in Jesus Christ!). But the scripture I like is Isa. 43:11, and Rev.22:13 these show that from the very foundation of time, when time started as we know it, Jesus was there, in the mind of God, and he knew he was going to be Jesus in human form, eventually. Jn.17:5. Jn.12:28-29, and while you are there check out verse 45 another oneness verse. Jesus gives clues all over the place. God, Father and Son are just Titles of the Holy Spirit. Just as the wind is invisible you know it’s there, you can feel it and see it moving physical things. The Holy Spirit is the physical evidence of every Title you want to give him, in whatever age you’re speaking of. In the OT. He has over 50 different titles in the OT, and several different manifestations. Then he receives his new name Jesus in the NT, and his new physical body in the flesh. In Rev.11:12 John writes of Jesus giving us a new name that no one knows yet. This will be revealed after the millennium, in 1 Cor.15:28 God will be all and all, he will tell us this new name in the new millennium, and we also will be called by that name. It was even hinted at when Jacob wrested with the lord Gen.32:24 thru 29 and Jacob asked the Lord his name, and the Lord would not reveal it.

Why we should be baptized in Jesus name and in the Spirit

 John 4:24, now with this being said, The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and she conceived. When Jesus was born, this was the Holy Spirit wrapped in the flesh, and any time Jesus is saying anything about the Father or the Holy Spirit in the third person is because he speaking as the flesh part of the Kingdom, because he has not been Glorified yet, or shown his Glory yet. Even God in the Old Testament spoke of himself in the third person; maybe because he is past, present and future, he is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient. When I get there I’ll ask him, right after I get off my face from worshipping him, or he reaches down and raises me up like John in Revelations. Won’t that be something?

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus now is assuming if you would have been with the Lord from the beginning of Matthew, and had seen all the miracles and the glory revealed at the transfiguration you should have    known the name of the Father and of the Holy Spirit, because in verse 18 he tells us that all authority of the God head has been given to him (Col.2:1-ffs). That is why the apostles baptized in Jesus name or in the Lord Christ Jesus, like in Acts 2:38-39. And other places like in Matthew 1:21 Jesus name means Jehovah-saves or Lord is Saviour, as well as Acts 4:12 shows us that Jesus is God and there is no other name whereby salvation comes, Isa.12:2, 43:11 45:21, and 22. Luke 1:47; But that we must worship him in Spirit and in Truth in John 4:23-24, now if you were baptized in the Holy Spirit you would know it, it is that pronounced when you receive it. It is unmistakable, and it will be just like Acts 2:1-4 as well as 38-39 then you will be able to prophesy, heal, speak in tongues, interpret tongues, and on and on. You will have a calling to share this with everyone. You will not be able to contain yourself at first and from then on you’ll tell everyone, trust me on this. You’ll know it, it is unmistakable!! Now you don’t have to act all crazy like some do, but if the Holy Spirit came on me and told me to roll around on the floor I would. Because you haven’t felt anything until you have felt the Holy Spirit move on you and you’ll end up on the floor anyway. This thing, the Holy Spirit is supernatural. You will know it as soon as you receive it, Acts10:44-48. This is why so many people are turning to this Oneness Doctrine, but there are so many that just can’t because of the flesh: The salvation I’m talking about will come at a price though; it will call for total submission to the will of the Father. The only one that knows the will of the Father is the Holy Spirit. With the Baptism of the Holy Spirit will come the power to lead an over coming life, so it’s not as hard as most people think. Total submission to the Father is the only way, to become a servant of the Most High God. For the Lord said be ye perfect for I am perfect Matt.5:48 this is not just a religion, this is a life style, this is the most important thing you will do in all your life. The Lord says many are called, but few are chosen Matt.20:16; 22:14. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Mt.7:14. Mt.7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Finally last one 1 Peter 4:17-18 for the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall be the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God? Vs.18. And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? This is why we must be re-baptized in Jesus name because the little details mean so much to the Lord, and this is how you receive the Holy Spirit. God has to be first in your life, for he looks at our hearts to the core of our souls. We can confess Jesus as savior and Lord, but even the devil does that, and trembles at the mention of his name. If you get baptized in Jesus name when you come up out of the water, if you believe that you will receive the Holy Spirit then you will. I was baptized at 9:00 pm. And received it on the way home from church at 9:30 Nov.13TH. 2005. I remember it like it was yesterday. John 7:37-39 this is what I’m referring to when I say you will know it when you receive it (Jn.1:12-13). That is why Jesus talks about eating of his flesh and drinking of his blood (that is the Spirit) Jn.6:53-54 (Jn.6:63).Further evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you will know them by their fruit. In John 15:1-17, Ro.6:22, Eph.1:21, Gal.5:22 we see evidence of the Spirit. Col.1:4-13 for we are always trying our best not to lose our salvation (We have a hope of salvation), and our righteousness for we know the Lord is so proud of us that he can’t take his eyes off his creations. So we must not and will not make the Holy Spirit grieve over us. This is why we try so hard not to lose our righteousness, for without it; we would be of no help to the Lord for a witness to those that are lost. James also writes in James 5:16 that the effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Verses 19 and 20 are very good reasons why we try to keep ourselves working hard for the Lord. But let’s get back to evidence of the Holy Spirit, other than tongues alone, we need to read James all the way thru. When we follow the teachings of Paul in Titus 3:1 thru 11, and Titus 2:1 thru15 this is evidence of the Spirit. For the Spirit is in us who makes our bodies a Holy Temple for the Lord to dwell in and work thru us Eph.2:19-21. We must learn to walk in the Spirit, Ro.8:1-9 ffs; Gal.5:16-26. Chapter 6 teaches us new principles to live by in the Spirit. For we must preach this gospel, if we do not then we face harsh retribution Gal.1:8-9 this is the curse if we do not preach the foundational truth of Jesus and Him crucified for our propitiational sacrifice once and forever, and Jn.3:3-7 baptized in His name and Spirit in repentance of all sin (Mt.4:17), Ac.2:38-39, preach Jesus or nothing at all. In 1 Cor14:1-25 talks about the gifts of the Spirit. Another great sign of the Spirit is Love for your fellow man as yourself, and without this kind of Love that only the Spirit can give us can we obtain all gifts, in order to glorify the Lord, Chapter 13 to 14 in1Cor. Now that we have the fundamentals down for ministering the word, let’s learn to protect it.

Protection of your Salvation:

 Now that we have learned to find favor in the Lord thru the Spirit, I like to start with the armor of the Lord, Eph.6:11-17. Let us go on the attack and fight Satin and rebuke him in Jesus name, just as Michael did when he fought over Moses’ body, and using Jesus as our example when he was tempted after those forty days of fasting in Mt. chap. 4. We must learn the scriptures for they are our sword in the armor of the Lord. It is up to us to keep an active prayer life with fasting and praying continually with Bible study to teach the gospel and to fight the devil (Phil2:10-12; Col.3:17), but mostly to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, Phil.2:12. For what terror will we face in the end; if we should not do all of his commandments, 2 Cor. 5:15 (See Heb. Chap.12 especially the last verse!29For our God is a consuming fire.). Let me leave the trinitarian with this thought, John 8:24, “I said there-fore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” Jesus is the I Am of the Old Testament Ex.3:14 and He is the I Am of the New Testament as well see Jn.8:58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was I am. Let us walk in the truth of all scripture for it is the only way to make us perfect in His eyes, not the eyes of this world and its false doctrines; but let us look only unto scripture: 2 Tm.3:12Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. The world will persecute you for they say this is impossible because they have forgotten about Mt.19:26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them: With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. With God living inside you all things are possible with His children who are of Him! 2 Cor.5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. This is how we become His temples see 1 Cor.3:16-17 also 1 Cor.6:19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. You have been purchased with the very blood of God, Ac.20:28Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. This is why the Apostle Paul spoke these very words in 2 Cor.6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

What must we do to keep our Salvation?

 Kind of simplistic; Jn.14:15If ye love me, keep my commandments. If we are truly His disciples we will have no problem loving Him and His words for they are the words for our eternal life or disobey them and be found a liar and a Hypocrite! Ro.3:4God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. We will be judged by every word we speak and even think how much more so by our very fruits we will be known, and rewarded for our works according to God; see Rv.22:1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign forever and ever. 6And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 8And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 10And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

You see God is the same, He changes not and He will be this to the end of time and will expect this till eternity; because His words say so, and will not come back void of what they were intended to do! No matter how we preach, teach and study the worlds doctrines; God’s word is all sufficient to sustain us forevermore! We cannot add to it or take away from it or we will suffer the consequences of a unfaithful sinner which is worse than if we had never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ! Jesus is not a respecter of persons, His word is the gospel the good news of either eternal salvation or eternal death to all those who will not allow himself to be led by the Holy Spirit and not by sight! This is the only way we can have the mind of Christ is when we allow Him to live on the inside of us before we can be His Temple! 1 Cor.2:1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory: 9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

We cannot have these things unless we are born again of Him inside us before we can be perfect as He is perfect, Mt.5:48; therefore many are called but few will be chosen!

In closing: I find these words of Haggai for us still today relevant: 1:5Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways. 6Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways. These too were waiting to build the Lord’s Temple that they should have already completed, just as today; the Lord is waiting on us to allow Him to come inside us too: Rv.3:20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
